Buenafe traded to Phoenix for Jonathan Uyloan

The Meralco Bolts and the Phoenix Fuel Masters swapped guards in a trade completed just days before the opening of the PBA Governors’ Cup on Friday.

The Bolts landed Jonathan Uyloan from the Fuel Masters in exchange for Ronjay Buenafe in a straight-up trade. The deal was announced by the league’s official website on Tuesday.

Uyloan never played a game for Phoenix which had acquired him from GlobalPort last May in a three-team transaction. The veteran guard averaged 6.11 points, 1.44 assists and 1.33 steals in nine games with the Batang Pier last Commissioner’s Cup.

Buenafe meanwhile only averaged 1.71 points in seven games for the Bolts last conference.

Buenafe and Uyloan will play with their new teams on the very first day of the Governors’ Cup as Meralco and Phoenix face off on Friday in the opener of the league’s season-ending conference. -interaksyon.com
