Tony Parker praises Gilas Pilipinas guards

TONY Parker was gracious enough to praise Gilas Pilipinas guards who held their own against him in France's narrow win over the hosts in the opener of the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Tuesday night at the jampacked Mall of Asia Arena.

Terrence Romeo and Jayson Castro alternated in trying to stop the NBA veteran to no avail as Parker cut loose for 21 points on 7 of 13 shooting from the field, including 3 of 7 from downtown, in the Les Bleus’ 93-84 win.

But the 32-year-old Parker had nothing but good words for both Filipino guards - and the entire Gilas team for that matter.

“They were pretty good, they were very aggressive, they tried to make stuff happen,” said Parker in the post-game interview.


“They were very aggressive going to the basket and creating shots for their teammates. They played pretty well.” -spin.ph
