TNT guard Jayson Castro, who has been called the ‘Best Point Guard in Asia’, has a new label for his old Gilas Pilipinas teammate, GlobalPort hotshot Terrence Romeo.

After a high-octane duel between the two elite point guards on Wednesday, Castro was nothing but praise for his counterpart, whom he dubbed the ‘Best Point Guard in the PBA’.

“Sobrang laki ng inimprove niya, especially yung court vision niya. Before, puro all the way lang. Nakikita na niya yung mga teammates niya ngayon, lalo na yung mga rumo-roll na big men. Ngayon mahirap na siyang gwardyahan. Yung maturity niya nakukuha na niya,” Castro told sportswriters after TNT’s 122-120 victory.

“Siya na yung best point guard sa PBA,” he added.

Though Romeo was glad to hear the praise, he was quick to downplay the sentiment, believing Castro to still be ahead of him.

“Syempre flattered ako. Unang-una galing sa Best Point Guard in Asia. Malayo pa, marami pa akong kakaining bigas. Hindi ko pa puwedeng ma-compare kung gaano na ako kalayo. Sobrang layo sa akin ni Kuya Jayson,” Romeo said.

“Pero galing sa kanya, masaya ako doon. Kailangang pagbutihan ko. Gawin kong motivation yung sinabi niya sa akin.” -interaksyon.com
